Our bagoong fiesta is about to end, and everybody is really happy about the event. Our street dancing competition is the very highlight of the fiesta. Six bagoong makers joined in the said competition, all did their very best, their efforts to practice for two months all of that were seen in their performances. All was close to perfection, costumes, dance routines and props were all wonderful.

The day started with the assembly in our town plaza. We were there at exactly 2p.m. to have everything ready for the parade and for the street dancing competition. We were all very nervous about it especially when we saw our competitors wearing their costumes with their marching bands. Big set of drums were seen everywhere, colorful costumes, beautiful muses and so many people. Our dancers looked very nervous as well. Some felt stomachaches and dizziness because of their nervousness, and we all laughed about it after the competition.

There were 4 stations wherein we have to perform our dance, and each station with take 2 kilometers to reach that was why we were all very exhausted when we reached the final stop. The street dancing and the bagoong dance competition was held at the different time so we still had time to take a rest before we proceed to the final competition. The rest of the story will follow. As of now, we are preparing for our upcoming barangay festival. Our first ever bagoong festival, wherein we are one of the participants in their bagoong and street dance competition. It has almost been two months since we started practicing our routines and until now, some of our dancers still don’t know what they are doing. It really is tiring; I myself get too tired after our practice.

The competition is fast approaching and it stresses me out. I get really tense when I think about it especially when I get to see the routines of our competitors. We admit they are better than us but at least we are still doing our very best to show them that we are also good. Maybe we just need a little more polishing and a lot of motivation for our dancers. I can say that our props are way better that the others, so we really need to work hard for us to win the first place. I am wishing luck for our team.

Having a job or having your own business? Which one do you prefer? As for me, I would prefer to have my own business. Why? It is simply because I want to apply my skills and what I have learned. I don’t want to pressure myself because of time. When you work, you will always have to be on time, and do the same thing for almost every day. I used to work before, I enjoyed it at first but as time goes by; I got bored on what I am doing. I began to think of doing something else, like putting up my own business. Right now, I have come up with my own business to manage and I am very happy about it. I am now indulging in manufacturing and direct selling. I could say that I feel better now; I have my financial freedom which is very important for me since I already have my family.

It will only be a few more weeks for the upcoming election 2010, and I am very much excited about it. Having this election is a very important because a lot of Filipinos are expecting a big change the candidates who will win the said election.

What I am really excited about is who will win the position of the president. Our country had suffered so much from the previous leaders of our country and a lot of controversies and secrets were revealed even anomaly when it comes to the present administration. As a concern citizen of this country, I want the best people to have the authority to lead our country and I want the person in the highest position to be very responsible and live a simple a life. I want the next president to be very honest and concern about his fellow Filipinos so that he would understand what every Filipino feels about the situation of our country right now. I am hoping that he can do a big change in the way the system runs this country and maybe he could make our way of life better by doing such things. I will be very happy if our next president will not be corrupt and will have no interest in money and will think about his fellowmen first before his self. Let’s just hope that the person who will be elected as our next president will be the best president that the Philippines will have.
